A new Unified Development Ordinance to help implement OneMooresville
Mooresville has begun a project to rewrite its Zoning Ordinance, guided by the OneMooresville Comprehensive Plan. The new ordinance, called the Mooresville Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), will be a user-friendly, modern set of regulations to guide development and land use within the Town of Mooresville and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.

The Code Assessment is now available for public review! It can be downloaded here.
The Code Assessment is an important initial step that identifies key goals for rewriting the zoning and subdivision regulations, evaluates the current regulations in light of those goals, and lays out recommendations for how the new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) can improve on the current regulations. It also outlines a new structure and organization for the UDO. Because the Code Assessment lays the groundwork for drafting the new UDO, it is an important opportunity for members of the community to provide input on the direction and form that the regulations will take. We recommend all who are interested review the draft and provide comments through the comment form or by contacting the Planning and Community Development Department.
