A new Unified Development Ordinance to help implement OneMooresville

Mooresville has begun a project to rewrite its Zoning Ordinance, guided by the OneMooresville Comprehensive Plan. The new ordinance, called the Mooresville Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), will be a user-friendly, modern set of regulations to guide development and land use within the Town of Mooresville and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.

A consolidated final draft of the UDO has been prepared for consideration by the Planning Board and Town Board. The two draft modules that were previously released for public review were merged into a single document and revised based on the input received on the earlier drafts. The Planning Board will hold a public meeting on January 13, 2022 and Town Board will hold a public hearing on January 18, 2022 to discuss potential adoption of the UDO. The UDO final draft is available for download here.
